Shocker: Jennifer Aniston to Star in Romantic Comedy

Jennifer Aniston will continue her trend of affable romantic comedies, signing on to co-star in The Baster with Jason Bateman. Variety reports that the film will be directed by the guys who made Blades of Glory, Will Speck and Josh Gordon. As you might suspect, the title is a reference to a turkey baster, meaning this is a movie about fertility. You know who doesn't have a problem with fertility? Angelina Jolie. Actually, that may or may not be what the movie's about. Variety says only that Aniston plays a woman who wants to have a child through artificial insemination, and that her neurotic best friend (Bateman), secretly replaces the donor's semen with either his own seed or Folger's instant crystals. I'm guessing the former. Anyway, the baby gets all born and whatnot, and Bateman has to live with the knowledge that he's the kid's father, only he can't say anything...until the third act. The Baster will shoot this spring, meaning it'll probably open next February or April, good months for female friendly comedies.
