Saturday, February 7, 2009 at 2:34PM Get Ready for a 'Slumdog' Reality Show
I guess the next step is to have a reality show featuing a guy that ages backwards.
The Most Common Vowel says that
Slumdog Millionaire will be spun into a game show, with the working title
Secret Slumdog Millionaire.

If that sounds vaguely familiar, it's because there has already been a so-called reality show on the air in the
U.S. and across the pond called
Secret Millionaire in which rich people go undercover in the poor parts of
town, get acquainted with those around them, and at the end of the episode hand out $100,000. Or so they tell me.
The new show, which is now using Secret Slumdog Millionaire as a working title, would apparently take place
in Mumbai, the setting for the Best Picture nominee. "It is a fantastic idea, an insider told Sunday
Express. "Secret Millionaire has already been well received but this looks like it could be even
better."
The insider adds, "The millionaires who sign up will see real poverty in Mumbai and it is going to be very moving
when they reveal their identity and offer these people help.
The film has suffered some criticism for its portrayal of the slums of India, but I think this show would get a
full-on backlash, although, in a lot of ways, it's no different than quite a lot of reality programming currently
on network schedules.
