Governor Val Kilmer?
Saturday, February 7, 2009 at 6:34PM
In 2010, New Mexico voters have a choice. Gov. Bill Richardson will conclude his time in the
governor's mansion, and according to an interview with the Associated Press, Val Kilmer believes some "serious
people" want him to consider running for the office.

"I’m just looking for ways to be contributive," Kilmer said, downplaying the notion that he's printing bumper
stickers. "And if that ends up being where I can make a substantial contribution, then I’ll run."
The actor has lived in New Mexico for more than 20 years, on a ranch outside Santa Fe, although he admits he's never voted much; he cast an absentee ballot for Barack Obama while filming in Bulgaria, but New Mexico records indicate that's the first time he's voted since registering in The Land of Enchantment in 1992.
Kilmer makes no bones about his shortcut to the office, saying that because of his name recognition, "If I run, I'm going to be the next governor."
Should he seek office and get elected, he'll be the second cast member from the shameful Joel Schumacher Batman era to become governor, what will Mr. Freeze running California. Can this mean the door is wide open for Chris O'Donnell?
