Sunday, March 1, 2009 at 1:15AM Anton Yelchin Denies 'Green Lantern' Rumors
Strike that rumor about Anton Yelchin playing The Green Lantern.

Just a couple of days ago, it was a hot topic, the thought that the kid co-starring in both Star Trek and
Terminator Salvation this summer would step into the lead role in one of DC Comics' more ambitious
superhero adaptations. We commented at the time that Yelchin was probably too young and a little too puny to be a
convincing Hal Jordan at this point. And when he was asked about the rumor at WonderCon, he said more or less the
same thing.

"I have no idea. I think I'm probably too young. I mean, no one has approached me. No one has said anything to me. I imagine I'm just too young. I mean, it's a great character but i don't know anything about it...I haven't heard anything about it."IESB reports that Warner Bros has approached Ryan Gosling about the role no fewer than three times, and he keeps passing on the opportunity. I don't know if this hero needs to be as specific, physically, as some of the others we have seen or will see. But I don't think Anton Yelchin is the right choice, as good as he is. Perhaps his Star Trek co-star Chris Pine is a little bit closer to what I have in mind.
