Downey, Law, McAdams Talk 'Sherlock Holmes'

The three on-camera stars of Sherlock Holmes sat down to talk to Entertainment Tonight, discussing topics as varied as the original Holmes and Robert Downey, Jr.'s abs. Downey joined Jude Law and Rachel McAdams, both of whom confessed to not being overly familiar with fiction's greatest detective.

Downey, of course, is Holmes, and Law plays his right hand man, Dr. Watson. And though it is true that the character McAdams is playing is Holmes' love interest, Irene Adler was in a few ways baffling to the man who could figure out everything else. So their meetcute will probably not be in a coffee shop, I'm guessing.

There are contemporary touches, though. I mean, having Guy Ritchie direct this kind of informs that opinion, anyway. But I like what Law says about the update:

"It's a modern appetite that can take a lot more than perhaps the 1940s audiences certainly could. And I think what we've been able to do is draw on our imaginations to highlight, from the source material, stuff that would appeal to a modern audience."

Well said, Jude.
