Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at 7:31PM Mickey Rourke (Finally) Signs for 'Iron Man 2'
The little dance between Marvel and Mickey Rourke has reached a happy ending. Rourke will
appear in Iron Man 2 at a rate of pay significantly higher than the $250,000 he was reportedly offered at
the beginning of negotiations.

We don't know Rourke's new number, but Variety says the deal is done, even though Marvel has yet to confirm
it. For those keeping score, the cast of Iron Man 2 will probably look like this: Robert Downey, Jr., Don
Cheadle, Samuel L. Jackson, and possibly Gwyneth Paltrow on the side of good and Rourke, Sam Rockwell, and Scarlett
Johansson on the side of evil.
The only cast members officially confirmed by the studio are Downey, Jackson, and Cheadle. Paltrow says she hasn't
seen a script, while Rockwell recently backpedaled from saying his deal was done. Johansson is the odds-on favorite
to replace Emily Blunt in the role of Black Widow.
The film will go into production in the next couple of months, and at that point we should be able to get a
concrete picture. But it looks as though Rourke is in, making his first big post-Wrestler splash.
