Would Owen Wilson and Ben Stiller possibly remake another 1970s TV show? While talking to Lisa Snowdon and Johnny Vaughn on London's Capital FM, Wilson was asked about a possible Starsky and Hutch sequel. Owen wouldn't confirm that and instead fired back, "Actually, we're thinking of the western, Alias Smith and Jones."

That means one of two things: Either Owen needs a new pat answer, because he's mentioned that show before, or he's serious about bringing it to life. The show is more obscure than Starsky and Hutch certainly, and it took a few chances by network standards in the Inflation Decade. It only ran for three seasons on ABC and dealt with two Wild West outlaws who cut an amnesty deal with the governor if they can keep out of trouble. So they assume the aliases and the fun begins.
Actually, when you hear Stiller and Wilson in relationship to this show, it makes perfect sense. It was kind of a post-ironic western, anyway, and that certainly fits Wilson laconic on-screen character. I think he's still got the muscle to make it happen if he wants to - Marley & Me and Stiller's Tropic Thunder should give them a green light to do anything they want for a while - and I certainly don't have any objection to the series itself being revised.
About the only negative is you hear so much talk about people being sick of the combo of Stiller and Wilson, and if that's true, then maybe ticket sales should go down to reflect that. I'm not a huge fan of either guy, really, but I am a huge fan of movie stars who know what they're best at, and this is the kind of thing they should be doing.

Topher Grace as Hannibal Heyes!
Ben Stiller cant do serious enough, owen wilson and brad pitt would be perfect
Jason London as Hannibal Heyes
Alias Smith and Jones was a gem (the chemistry between Pete and Ben has remained unparalled) and should be left alone, not because some friends want to do a project.
There is only one Hannibal Heyes and only one Kid Curry. I hope they never do a remake and if they do, they have to use Jarad Padalecki and Jensen Ackles.
Roger, the Netherlands..
I think the one and only actor for Hannabal Hayes is Hugh Jackman. He is funny enough and has the razzle dazzle of Peter Duel and is handsome like Pete. As far as replacing Ben Murphy, I don't know, he looks pretty fantastic even in his 60's, maybe if he dyed his hair blonde again he could pull it off!!lol. But, if Owen Willson does the part I'll get sick! Starsky and Hutch remake was a horrible joke. Maybe, and I mean maybe, Matthew Mc Conaughay would be alright. I know with these two actors you'd have them lined up at the box office. But I still think Ben Murphy should just dye his hair and go for it!!
