Will Ferrell was on Letterman last night promoting his Broadway performance of You're Welcome, America: A Final Night with George W. Bush, which will air live tonight on HBO, one night before the limited engagement closes on Sunday. It's an ambitious one-man show recounting Bush's eight years in office, and while Ferrell's vocal impression is solid, it's the stuff he comes up with as W. that makes it such a good characterization. He looked tired on Letterman and even admitted not realizing how much work a Broadway show is. Eight performances a week, all on your own, needing to hit the mark every time...yeah, that would be pretty grueling. To get a little more promotion for the event, Ferrell has produced a series of promos for the HBO special in which his President Bush interviews his President Bush.
