Sunday, March 15, 2009 at 8:49PM 'Sarah Connor,' 'Dollhouse' Get Ratings Boost
Out of nowhere, it seems as though Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles and
Dollhouse might have turned a tiny corner in the ratings game. According to The Hollywood Reporter, both shows posted gains this past Friday night on Fox. It's the first time the Friday time slots have been up since
the back-to-back programming began last month.

Sarah Connor showed a 20% increase, taking in 3.5 million viewers on Friday night. Dollhouse did not
show that strong a spike but it already had the advantage of roughly a million more viewers going in. Still, it was
up 7% to 4.3 million people tuning in.
Now, let's not throw a parade or anything; there's still a long way for both of these shows to go. Dollhouse
had lost audience each week leading up to Friday's show and without much track record, the Joss Whedon-led Eliza
Dushku sci-fi show has to establish something to build on for a second season before Fox awards it that chance. The
DVR numbers are pretty strong (as we pointed out a couple weeks ago), but how does that translate into hard numbers
for the network? Fox has had high hopes for the show, so it might get a longer leash than usual.
Sarah Connor, however, has had a few opportunities, so it almost certainly needs to show continued growth over the next few weeks to come back for another shot after the summer.

Fox would be wise to stop expiring episodes of Sarah Conner on Hulu, so new fans can catch up.
