Weekend Recap: 'New Moon' Pictures, Superheroes Galore, 'Slumdog' Bond Girl

Anytime there's a major film festival - and South by Southwest qualifies - there's a lot of news from one location. But it's primarily overly enthusiastic reviews of the films on display there. So we looked deep this weekend for other items to cover, and I think we found a few choice converstaion starters.

So these headlines have nothing to do with South by Southwest (or SXSW if you know how hip you are and aren't afraid to show it), but Film School Rejects has a ton of that coverage if you're interested.

But before you head over there, check out these little items, baked fresh this weekend:

Slumdog star Freida Pinto rumored for Bond girl role

Will Ferrell as W. interviews himself

New Moon on set photos

Who knew all this time that Battlestar Galactica was a model United Nations?

First Superman comic grabs over $300K in an auction

More details about the proposed Lionsgate takeover

Wonder Woman on the fast track for DC and Warner Bros.

Final Destination has a new destination: Head-to-head with Halloween

Will Jon Favreau direct The Avengers?

We didn't have time to get to everything of course, so here's a list of headlines we're outsourcing:

Cops shoot guy dressed as Joker (Yahoo!)

Concept art for David Fincher's The Goon (Cinematical)

Actor, activist Ron Silver passes away at 62 (New York Post)

Sequel to the Center of the Earth (Coming Soon)

Three more join Robin Hood (The Hollywood Reporter)
