Clive Owen: 'Inside Man 2' Script is "Imminent"

That Inside Man sequel is gaining more traction. When the subject was first broached, Universal went out and hired Russell Gerwitz to write a part two to his 2006 heist movie. But Spike Lee eventually went with Terry George (Hotel Rwanda), and since that update late last year, we haven't heard a whole lot that could be classified as concrete.

I don't know that this is concrete, either, but it sounds good. Clive Owen, doing the red carpet thing for Duplicity, told Cinema Blend that Inside Man 2 is basically an all systems go kind of deal.

"There's a script imminent, Spike's very keen to go, and we're waiting on the script," Owen said. "Hopefully, it'll happen."

There are a few schedules to sort out first, however. I mean, it's not as if Owen, Jodie Foster, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Denzel Washington are just sitting on their hands waiting for the phone to ring with job offers. However, all of them must be into the idea of Inside Man 2, or at least the pay day.

"The plan - if it's good - is that all the key characters come back," admitted Clive.

That's a pretty big leap. Quick: Name a sequel all of those people have done. Well...you can't. None of them have ever come back for a movie sequel, from Spike all the way down. So I guess that speaks highly of the working environment on the first film, don't you think?
