Without looking, how long has it been since we've seen a Hughes Brothers film? OK...I had to look. It's been eight years, going all the way back to From Hell. They haven't been idle, but The Book of Eli marks the first time Allen and Albert have directed a feature film since 2001. Hard to believe.
Their upcoming film stars Denzel Washington as a lone hero in a post-apocalyptic America, fighting forces of evil led by Gary Oldman. It's a western of sorts, with shootouts and the like. And in fact, when Entertainment Tonight visited the set in New Mexico, a shootout is exactly what they found.
It's rare to find one of these set visits that's actually cool, but I have to say: Well done, Entertainment Tonight. They've chosen good audio (check out what the Hughes Brothers have to say about Denzel), talked to the star about things stars don't normally talk about in features like this, and perhaps accidentally, the show left in a bit of blasphemy by Gary Oldman. I had to listen twice to make sure.

The Book of Eli will be in theaters next January 15th, which between Cloverfield and Paul Blart is now the new hot weekend on the calendar.
