A bizarre story has taken shape involving Matthew Francis Nolan, the brother of Dark Knight director Christopher Nolan.

The Chicago Sun-Times reports that the 40-year-old brother of the filmmaker was already under investigation for a bank fraud scheme when FBI agents arrested him in connection with a 2005 Costa Rica murder.
Nolan is wanted in the Central American country for the kidnapping and murder of Robert C. Cohen, a Florida businessman who reportedly owed an associate of the director's brother $7 million. Authorities say following the abduction, Nolan was among those who tried to extort the money from Cohen's family and when that failed, he was murdered.
Nolan - who is not involved in the film industry - is being held in Chicago awaiting extradition after the FBI investigation into a $700,000 fraud case led to his capture last month. The fraud case is unrelated to the murder charge. An alleged accomplice in the kidnapping and murder, Douglas Mejia, has already been convicted in Costa Rica.
