Time to update your Expendables roster. Sly Stallone, who previously announced the departure of Forest Whitaker and the arrival of 50 Cent to the role of Hale Caesar - which is a fantastic movie character name, by the way - has changed it up again.

Sly called Harry Knowles to say that Fitty was out of the cast and in his place is the very reliable supporting player, Terry Crews. Crews is a former NFL player who managed a handful of seasons with the Rams, Chargers, and Redskins before retiring in 1997. He has worked steadily as an actor since 1999, but particularly in the past four of five years.
He's also a big, big dude - about 6'2", 240 pounds - so he'll fit in really well with the rest of the Expendables heavies. If he stays on board. Something about that role seems to bounce actors out into orbit pretty quickly.
Personally, this is one of my favorite casting notices yet for Stallone's 2010 war/mercenaries/80s reunion movie. If it's a very physical role, you have to think Crews is a better fit than Whitaker, and if there's any semblance of acting involved, he's a step up from 50 Cent. Crews is also a guy who's just plain fun to watch, but unfortunately, he's been in some of the worst movies of the past decade, like Serving Sara, Soul Plane, Malibu's Most Wanted, White Chicks, and Who's Your Caddy. So hopefully, this will put him on the road to better things.
