'New Moon' Unveils Its Wolf Pack
Monday, March 23, 2009 at 10:48PM
Some really good news out of Camp Twilight. Summit has cast five Native American actors to join Taylor Lautner's Jacob
in the Wolf Pack in New Moon.

You don't know the names; most of the actors are making their film debuts in the sequel, but that's not why it's
good news. It's good news because there really have not been a lot of open doors for Native American actors in
Hollywood, in spite of the increased visibilities of other minorities in films and television. For a project with
the incredibly high profile of New Moon to hire five Native American, regardless of their individual
experience, should lead to more opportunities in the future.
The Hollywood Reporter names names: Chaske Spencer, Bronson Pelletier, Alex Meraz, Kiowa Gordon and Tyson
Houseman will join the Pack, helping humans fight the vampires in the new film. They represent the Sioux, Purpecha,
and Hualapai tribes.
New Moon has begun production and will be in theaters this November. On Saturday, Twilight was
released on DVD and sold three million copies in 24 hours.
Climb aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise on May 8th.

Glad to hear that they went with the unknown route instead of finding some other known actors and "pretend" that they were Native American or something (or cast that girl that was Sacgawea in "Night at the Museum").
And yes, I'm looking forward to "New Moon"... is that a bad thing?
