Thursday, March 26, 2009 at 1:17PM Six New 'Harry Potter' Character Posters
With Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince just a few months
away - but nearly nine months after it was originally supposed to be released - there's a new set of Potter
character posters.

The math gets a little tricky if you don't know they've split the final book, Deathly
Hallows, into two movies. So there are eight movies, and this is the sixth
book. Some people think making Deathly Hallows a two-parter is a money grab, but at this point, they could
do the entire rest of the series in Pig Latin and it would still be one of the most profitable franchises ever, so what's another billion dollars, really?
Plus, Deathly Hallows is a very long book, and the movies are already two-and-a-half hours as a rule, so
this way they can hit everything they need to hit to wrap it all up.
As for the new posters, I think they've gone a little overboard with the Photoshopping, because honestly, Emma
Watson's not even 20. Why do you need to smooth out her face, exactly? I prefer the
previous collection, which was a little bit darker, since that's the overriding tone of the second half of the
series. Of course, in interviews, Daniel Radcliffe has said there's more humor in this movie than in
some of the others, so maybe these are more on target than I think. Minus the digital airbrushing, that is.
Half-Blood Prince will be in theaters on July 17th.
