Harold Ramis: Original 'Ghostbusters' Will Play "Sage Mentors" in Threequel

More than likely, those responsible are going about this Ghostbusters 3 business the right way. They hired good writers last year - Gene Stupnisky and Lee Eisenberg from The Office - and rather than attaching big names to play the new 'Busters and then rushing a script to meet their schedules, the script is the most important thing right now. The evidence supporting that, strangely enough, is that there's not a screenplay yet.

The lingering question has been how involved Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, and Harold Ramis will be, and Ramis now officially confirms it's all hands on deck. "We're all going to be in it in different kinds of roles," Ramis told MTV. "We're going to be the sage mentors. There are going to be young Ghostbusters."

In addition to appearing in the film, which seems like something we'd need before most people accepted the premise of the threequel, Ramis says the original creative team is contributing behind the scenes, as well. "I'm consulting with [Eisenberg and Stupnisky], as is Dan Aykroyd and [Ghostbusters director] Ivan Reitman."

"Bill Murray is just waiting for the truckload of money to arrive to get him out of his office."

About the only original member of the cast who definitely won't be involved is Rick Moranis, who wouldn't even lend his voice to the video game, even though the only thing he does now is voice work.
