Weekend Recap: 'Sherlock,' More Joaquin Fallout, 'Alice in Wonderland'

Monsters vs. Aliens dominated the box office over the weekend, collecting $58 million, good enough for the biggest debut of the year. That's also about 1/1000th the amount of money Bernie Madoff bilked from people, so that has to make you feel good.

There were other stories, just not in theaters, really. But Sherlock Holmes made some noise at the same time that Lindsay Lohan's career can barely be heard at all. And Joaquin Phoenix' Two Lovers director suddenly can't keep quiet.
