Bond Girl Gemma Arterton Joins 'Clash of the Titans'

About all I can figure is that Gemma Arterton has some great references on her rather limited
acting résumé. She was a Bond Girl about a month after she appeared in RockNRolla last year, and in both
movies she might have been on screen for about three minutes. But producers have seen enough of her to cast her as
the female lead in Prince of Persia and now Arterton will co-star in the remake of Clash of the
Titans.
Toga! Toga! Toga!

“My part is... the coolest part,” she told Empire. “Io’s not in the original film. Perseus falls in love
with her. It’s a really great part.”
If Io isn't in the original, does that mean there will be other changes? “Obviously the story is the story, but
it’s much more about Perseus’ mission, and how he deals with being the son of Zeus, and things like that," Arterton
confirms, "so it feels a little more about him, and about the issues around that.”
I'm on the fence about this remake. The original was nothing special, and usually, I'm fine with remakes of movies
that missed the mark the first time. But I think they're trying to persuade people that Clash of the Titans
is somehow more than a cheesetastic B-movie. As Perseus, they've cast Sam Worthington - the hottest up-and-coming
actor going right now between Terminator and Avatar - and Empire reports that Liam Neeson has
been offered the role of Zeus.
Sounds like they're taking it really seriously. But should they?
