Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at 6:28PM Cool German 'Monsters vs. Aliens' Posters
I have no idea why, but I think that European movie posters have much more design aesthetic
than American posters for the same movies. You'd think, since the U.S. is the biggest market in the world for its
own films, that they wouldn't put out garbage like the Photoshopped mess that was the My Best Friend's Girl
one-sheet, opting for cooler, more original work instead.

A great example is No Country for Old Men. The British posters are
many, many times more interesting, and they could've easily been used in this country just as effectively. Another
great example is Monsters vs. Aliens, as it turns out.
It's supposed to be an homage to 1950s monster movies, and yet the American teaser posters are pretty useless:
White background, character. They've gotten a little bit better over the past month, but I still prefer any of
these new German posters to anything I've seen stateside.
