Rosario Dawson Wears a Mask in 'Sin City 2'

Did you realize that it's been four years since Sin City was released? And about every three months since, there's been some update about the sequel, updates that have never transpired. But Robert Rodriguez went off to make Grindhouse and since then he's been committing himself to any project that Rose McGowan would be the least bit interested in. Frank Miller, meanwhile...well, The Spirit. Rosario Dawson has been a fount for some of these Sin City 2 updates, most recently indicating that the production would start this spring. And, well, don't bet on that, either. But she talked to Sci Fi Wire this week and acknowledged - yet again - that it's moving forward. "I just talked to Frank about it, though, and he just finished [the script]. He said he finished a couple months ago, so I'm really excited to get it going." "Supposedly it's going to happen in 2009 is what we're shooting for," she said. Now even Dawson is throwing "supposedly" into her statements, so take it all with a grain of salt. The story is supposed to focus on events in the middle part of the Sin City comic called The Hard Goodbye. For Dawson, that means a bigger role and some dominating developments. "I get to wear a mask in this one," Dawson revealed. "Is that specific enough?" Five years between chapters is a long time to wait, but as long as it's more Rodriguez behind the camera than Miller, I'll still be intrigued.
