At least for the time being, that whole brooding DC Comics slate is taking
a back seat. Green Lantern producer Donald De Line says we won't get the sturm und drang
that accompanies or even defines the Christopher Nolan Batman movies, no matter how successful
it is in that environment.

Cinema Blend talked to De Line, who commented on the tone of one of the next big things for the
DC/Warner Bros. combo. "I'd say it's more akin to Iron Man, where there's definitely
serious stakes in the movie, but there's definitely a sense of humor throughout," said De Line.
"I think it's all about the character and what the theme is. You can do dark, you can go more
comedic, and I think [the audience will] stay with you."
Right now, we don't have a Green Lantern, but they seem to be eyeing actors under 30, like Ryan
Gosling, who has apparently turned down the job multiple times. Emile Hirsch has been
mentioned, too, but I think I'd like to see Josh Hartnett take a shot.
He's a few years older than most of the candidates, but he's also...how does one say...a better
physical specimen? I mean, Hartnett's about a head taller than Hirsch, but having said that, he
also turned down a shot to be Superman when that was Brett Ratner's project. So maybe he's not
interested in this, either. But I think he's a more believable name than the others I've heard.

Charlie Hunnam, Cam Gigandet, Channing Tatum (although he may be Capt America), Jake Gyllenhaal, but hopefully Mr. Gosling will change his mind.
Actually Hartnett's not a bad choice... I didn't really like him much until his turn in Lucky Number Slevin. He could deliver the serious and the comic... as well as the 'specimen.'
Hartnett's supposedly "on the short list" to play Loki in Thor so I doubt he will also play The Green Lantern if he's chosen for the role of Loki.
