Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at 4:28PM No Joke: Sony Prepping 'Men In Black III'
A few sites are reporting that Sony is looking hard at a Men in Black III, possibly for a 2011 release. So what do you think about that?

Me, I don't much care. The first one was entertaining, the second one wasn't, but Will Smith is still an enormous star who all but guarantees a big opening weekend, particularly with a well-known product. I would rather see this than another Bad Boys movie, though.
The studio confirmed at ShoWest today a few things we already knew: Spider-Man Quatro and Ghostbusters Trois. In his speech in Vegas, Sony's Rory Bruer also mentioned MIB3, although it wasn't one of those official things like Disney carting out Johnny Depp in a Lone Ranger mask like he's some performing ape.
As such, we don't know about Messrs. Smith and Jones and their involvement. I have a hunch that if one balks the other would, too. But I have an even stronger hunch that if Sony is serious about this, they'd both be back on board.

I honestly can't think of a movie where the 2 leads sleep walked as much as MIB2. It always seemed like they were woken up right before Sonnenfeld yelled "action". I understand that it made a profit, but do these guys (Smith/Jones) really WANT to make another one? I'm not even sure if they realize they were in the last sequel.
By the way, love you on Mike O'Meara!
