Angelina Jolie Rumored for 'Sin City 2'...Again

Though we did mention earlier in the week that Sin City 2 might get a clean slate, free of the Weinstein Company, is there a more tiresome subject right now than whether or not this movie will happen?

The promise of a sequel has been steady and strong for at least four years now, and Frank Miller reportedly finished a script in the past few months. Rosario Dawson, one of Miller's biggest supporters says she's back, Mickey Rourke said he'd probably pass, and some of the other cast members from the original are up in the air. And now Moviehole is pumping air back into the rumor that Angelina Jolie would be interested in the sequel.

Oh wait, there is something more tiresome than Sin City rumors: Angelina Jolie casting news. Between this thread (which goes back at least to the 2007 New York Comic Con) and those phony Catwoman stories, Jolie has been busy not working on fan boy projects for quite a while.

The story goes that she would play Ava, a character from Miller's "A Dame to Kill For" story. The threat level has been raised to "serious talks," but again, are you as interested in Sin City 2 as you might have been two years ago, or even two hours before you saw The Spirit?

I like Jolie - more than most people, even - and she'd probably be very good in that kind of role. But I can't help thinking that by the time it actually gets here, we just won't care anymore.
