Friday, April 10, 2009 at 7:33PM High Voltage 'Crank 2' Clips
It amazes me sometimes when we learn that a movie won't screen for the press. Is Crank:
High Voltage so bad that critics will vivisect it on sight? It's a strange policy, especially give that the
same studio, Lionsgate, has give critics free runs at all three Transporter movies. How can this be any
worse that those flicks?

That's where we are, though, forbidden from checking out the other Jason Statham action franchise before the movie
is released to the general public. That's a shame; I'd kind of like to see it, or I should say, I'd like to see it
at a time other than midnight on a Friday. It looks more fun than the first one.
The trailers are cool as hell and these four new clips aren't the worst things I've ever seen. So, thanks,
Lionsgate, for not having a ton of faith in your biggest movie of the season. Even if it does have Corey Haim in it.

Crank 2 will be in theaters next Friday, and so will I, apparently.

In an age where Straight to video is becoming both mainstream and profitable, I too wonder why studios do the "not screened for press" routine. Shouldn't they be offering the very best they have these days? In this economic climate why are movies below 3 stars (or DDA's) getting into theaters?
