Kristen Bell in RomCom 'You Again'

Here's a big difference between Kristen Bell and Kate Hudson: Kristen Bell is funny. So if Bell seems to be following the Hudsonized path of romantic comedies, remember that she's competetent at the most crucial element in that equation. She's following up Forgetting Sarah Marshall with When in Rome and now Disney wants Veronica Mars back in a new genre pic called You Again. Variety has Andy Fickman lined up as the director, and I think that suits him better than Race to Witch Mountain. Clearly, something has to. The plot is so-so; actually, it's kind of an inverted mix of Mr. Woodcock and My Best Friend's Wedding. Bell's rival in high school is set to marry her brother. Though it's not in the initial report, it is generally believed that hijinx will ensue. I don't want to see Bell trapped in romantic comedies, and I think this has to be it for the time being. But I certainly don't mind seeing her in the oh-so-familiar role.
