I took - as my dad might say - a ration of shit last summer for docking Brian Austin Green
a couple points for actively campaigning for the role of The Riddler in the next Batman movie. I said, "You can probably gauge an actor's level of heat by how their casting rumors are circulated," and pointed out that Angelina Jolie is linked to every hot chick role in the world and BAG has to throw his own hat into the ring.

The point being, you don't nominate yourself for movie roles, at least not in interviews. If you want your people to track down scripts and set up meetings, great. But it just comes across like you're desperate if you talk it up during interviews. It'd be like going on a talk show and saying you totally want to have sex with Jessica Biel.
But that was then, and this is now. And now, Green is actively pursuing The Green Lantern.
"I've been sort of throwing myself into the mix and trying to get in to sit down with the producers and see what's going on. I haven't seen a script yet. I haven't talked to producers but my agent and my manager have talked to producers and casting."
In Green's defense, Comic Book Resources did ask him the question; it's not like he just sat down and started raving about how perfect he'd be. But he also comments that whoever gets the role should be up to the fans of the comic book series. OK, good. Then shut up about it.
