Final Day to Vote in 'Wolverine' Premiere Contest
Friday, April 17, 2009 at 2:55AM
I learned just a couple of hours ago that the online contest to
determine where X-Men Origins: Wolverine would have its premiere is more or less down to
two finalists. Earlier in the week, Tempe, Arizona charged into the lead, which it held mostly
uncontested for about 48 hours. But on Thursday, Davis, California staged a rally and it's now
pretty much neck-and-neck.

Here's the deal on the premiere: There isn't a big Hollywood shindig for Wolverine;
there will either be a big Davis shindig or a big Tempe shindig where all the stars show up for film on April 27th. The voting ends at 8:59pm
Pacific Time (or local time, since both cities in the running are on Pacific Time). Basically, this all
boils down to Sacramento and Phoenix, and no offense, citizens of northern California, but your
governor is a movie star. Oh, and isn't the point of hosting a premiere somewhere else to get it out of California? I think it is.
So, Phoenicians, Arizonans, people who think California represents everything that's gone wrong
with American society, do your part and head over to X-MenOrigins.com/Premiere and vote for zip
code 85281 by 8:59pm Pacific tonight. That's Tempe. That's who we want to win. Please be specific with the zip code - 85281. And this has
almost nothing to do with the fact that I live a good jog from the theater. I'll tell you this much: Not since John Cougar Mellencamp vowed to paint the mother pink have I been this invested in a nationwide promotional contest.
Oh, and hey - there's a new poster for Wolverine, courtesy of IESB:

No. You've gotten the entire point of the competition wrong. The point was to get it out of HOLLYWOOD, not merely California. Many people know that Northern California and Southern California are totally different places--they are nothing alike. And Davis is an extremely small college town with a population in the thousands. It is nothing like Hollywood and never gets the "buzz" that other larger towns and cities get, especially those in Southern California.
Tempe is ass garbage, bring Wolverine to Davis T-Rex for life smoke weed
Dear Biased Writer of this Article:
You are an idiot. Come to Davis and eat a cow pie. You won't find 'em in Hollywood.
Sincerely, Biased Commentator from Davis
Davis is nowhere near Hollywood. Its a small college town that happens to have some very friendly and talented people- in fact, Davis has like half the population of Tempe and its still keeping up in the polls.
