Terrible Clip from 'Year One'

One of the summer movies that has had to make some alterations to ensure a PG-13 rating is Year One , the dawn of history comedy with Jack Black and Michael Cera . You've also got to factor in the director (Harold Ramis) and the producer (Judd Apatow). That's a whole lot of comedy coming to the table.

But when the MPAA first ruled it was rated R, the studio went back to the editing suite to lock up that PG-13. Personally, I'd prefer this to be rated R, because that's more in line with what Apatow comedies usually give us. Also, even though PG-13 movies make more money in general, is this a huge draw for 14, 15, and 16-year-olds? Not convinced of that.

Here's a new scene from Year One called The Jakal Dance, and I wonder why, when they had the digital scissors out, the filmmakers didn't just go ahead and leave this on the cutting room floor. I think this clip is horrible.

See what I mean? That is not best-foot-forward material. Year One comes out on June 19th.
