Can Michael Bay make a movie with no explosions? He'd certainly like to try. The Baron of Bombast, the Poobah of Pyrotechnics, the Kaiser of Kaboom recently demanded an extra year off between Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and Transformers: Whatever They'll Call the Third One, which Paramount has already announced for summer 2011.

But Bay told the studio to holds its financially motivated horses, only we assumed at the time it was just to get a break from the series. Instead, Bay may want to focus on something entirely different. “I have a small little movie I keep wanting to do,” Bay tells MTV. Of course, for Bay a "small" film might have a $110 million budget. But I think his intentions are on an even tinier scale.
“It’s like a Pulp Fiction-type of movie, he adds, without giving specifics about the plot. "[It’s based on] a true story, and it’s very funny. It's a dark comedy."
A dark comedy based on a true story with giant alien robots?!? Can't wait!
