Another Pair of 'Star Trek' Commercials

We are officially counting down the days until summer. It's less than two weeks away, and one glance at May tells you what summer should look like every year: Wolverine, Star Trek, Angels & Demons, Terminator Salvation, Night at the Museum II: The Other White Meat, and Up.

I'll do an actual summer breakdown in the next week or so, but just look at that potential box office. In U.S. dollars alone, we're looking at $1.3 billion conservatively just out of those six movies. Add another $600 million for Potter and Transformers combined, and your tentpoles account for $2 billion.

If there's one movie that might have to fight for revenue, though, it's Star Trek. And it's purely a by- product of where it's situated, between Wolverine and Terminator, two movies that very clearly share its target audience. Plus, the franchise hasn't ever produced mammoth hits before, so projections that this could be one of the top two or three movies of the summer might be a little high.

However, in terms of quality, it could be one of the best summer movies. At least that's the hope around here. Two new Trek TV spots have been released in the past few days, and here they are:
