Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at 3:34PM Two More Get Sucker Punched by Zack Snyder
What was it, eight weeks ago or so that Entertainment Weekly had Zack
Snyder listed in the top 20 active directors? This was before Watchmen was released, and I'm fairly certain if the
EW writers were polled again, Snyder would be dropped a few pegs now.

Still, is he better than Clint Eastwood? Paul Greengrass? Paul Thomas Anderson, Ang Lee, Ron Howard, or Pedro
Almodovar? Not even close. But it's hard to deny he's a director on the rise, both artistically and commercially,
even with the Watchmen setback.
His next live action film is Sucker Punch!, an all-female action flick, that just added Jena
Malone and Dragonball co-star Jamie Chung to a cast that
already includes Emily Browning, Abbie Cornish, and yes, Vanessa
Hudgens.
The idea has promise if handled correctly:

"Set in the 1950s, Sucker centers on a girl confined to a mental institution by her evil stepfather, who intends to have her lobotomized in five days. While there, she imagines an alternate reality to hide from the pain and in that world begins planning her escape, needing to steal five objects to help get her out."But it hasn't been smooth sailing for Sucker Punch! even with Snyder's drawing power and the great concept of a femme-tastic action movie; several reported cast members have already backed out of the project citing scheduling conflicts. The Hollywood Reporter says Chung will take the role intended for Emma Stone, and Malone is filling in for Evan Rachel Wood. Amanda Seyfried from Mamma Mia! has also exited, but she has yet to be replaced.

Gosh you don't know much do you. Emily Browning is the one who replaced Seyfried.
Weak cast.
