Van Damme, Lundgren Back for 'Universal Soldier'

Lundgren and Jean-Claude Van Damme are reprising their roles in a new
Universal Soldier movie, which is great news, because they know the intricacies of the characters so well, you'd hate
some other guys to take over. Actually, Lundgren wasn't in the second movie, replaced at least on the marquee by wrestler
Bill Goldberg.

This is a difficult series to keep in sequence. There's the original film from 1992, another movie in 1999, which was
actually the fourth Universal Soldier. You see, two non-theatrical movies were released in 1998, Brothers in
Arms aired in late September of that year and Unfinished Business went straight to DVD in December. Van Damme
wasn't even in those, which is why he considers this the end of the trilogy...five Universal Soldier movies in.
IGN has a new photo from this year's Universal Soldier: The
Next Generation, and that title obscures things even more because it's not the next
generation at all. And even though they're not as young as they used to be, you've got to give Lundgren credit for keeping
his hair perfect even though he clearly took a beating in this scene.

It's not yet clear whether the film will pop up in theaters for a few weeks before going to DVD, or if it's a straight-to-
video affair.
