With
New Moon
only about six months away,
USA Today is featuring a McConaughey-meets-Abercrombie & Fitch photo of the newest members of the cast. Known as the Wolf Pack, actors
Chaske Spencer,
Alex Meraz,
Kiowa Gordon and
Bronson Pelletier portray members of the Quileute tribe of the Pacific Northwest who just so happen to transform into werewolves to fight the vampires in the Twilight universe.

"They had to have papers that proved their heritage," says director
Chris Weitz, who insisted on hiring a group of Native Americans for the roles. "And they had to be in good physical shape." Evidently.
Weitz adds that the actors aren't just showing up and taking off their shirts, though. "They went through wolf camp together, and they are in constant training. It paid off as a bonding thing for them and helped them to get to know one another. They drove each other to get more buff."
Wolf camp...what a concept.
New Moon comes out in November.

Alex is from the Valley. One of the other actors who plays a wolf is also, but I can't remember which one. Alexis Vance was on a story and the lady told her two young men she knows (they might be her nephews, my memory is hazy) play werewolves in New Moon. We'll interview them when they return to the Valley.
