Girl You Know It's True: A Milli Vanilli Bio-Pic

If this weren't such a wonderful fit, I wouldn't even be talking about it. How about Brett Ratner directing the Milli Vanilli bio-pic? Perfect, right?

I have contended for a while that Ratner is a perfectly serviceable director if he's doing the right project. I mean, he knows where to put the camera and he sure has put his stamp on 2009 with those Guitar Hero ads he's directed. Just don't give him Shakespeare or Eugene O'Neill.

So a Milli Vanilli flick makes sense for him; he's directed tons of music videos, it's pop culture and that's really what he's best at, and in a weird way, I think he'll bring some air of legitimacy to Rob and Fab because The Rat doesn't seem like the kind of guy who would make a movie about them being crooks. He'd probably make it very sympathetic.

Ratner would reunite with Rush Hour sequels writer Jeff Nathanson for the project, which is being spearheaded by Kathleen Kennedy, a sure bet that this film will actually get made.

Trivia: When Milli Vanilli was stripped of its Best New Artist Grammy Award, it was not presented to another nominee. Between Indigo Girls, Neneh Cherry, Soul II Soul, and Tone Loc, I guess you'd have to go Indigo Girls, whose bio-pic should not be directed by Brett Ratner.
