Robert Rodriguez to Reboot, Direct 'Predators'
Thursday, April 23, 2009 at 3:33PM
Robert Rodriguez
will reboot another beloved 80s action movie with a Schwarzenegger
connection. He's making Red Sonja with his muse, Rose McGowan, and IESB reports
today that he'll direct and produce
Predators.

It won't necessarily be a remake, but I think Predator is one of the best movies of its kind, so straying
too far from the original story probably won't happen. But it's also one of those great B-movies that they just got
right, so revisiting it in this form makes more sense to me than another fight with the Alien. And I like the plural - Predators. That ups the ante. Because more than one Predator means even less time to bleed, so...
Rodriguez made his intentions known today at a news conference in Austin, where lawmakers signed into law the Texas
film incentive House bill 873. "I'm going to be able to shoot my upcoming Machete here, a sci-fi action film called
Nervewrackers, a reboot of the Predator series called Predators, and a couple of smaller movies called Sin City 2
and The Jetsons."
That answers another question I had: What becomes of the in-limbo Sin City 2 with this news? Apparently,
Rodriguez still has it very much on the radar, though the writer-director-editor-producer did not say in what order these films might be made.

Great news. but I'll believe it when I see it, so many times I've had my hopes lifted and then dashed.
Or worse when they make the movie you want them to make but it SUCKS.
"even less time to bleed" lol nice.
So, does that mean there is more time to duck?
When are we going to get some original material out of Hollywood instead of remakes, remakes of remakes, sequels, remakes of sequels of cartoon and remakes of remade remakes?
When they stop making so much money.
or during award seasons.
I like how in the first movie, the indian guy, had bodygaurds, to protect the cast from him hurting anyone, he had a bit of a temper.
He didn't have body guards when I met him. He lived around here for awhile. He's one of at least three people from predator to run for public office.:)
