Digital Arnold Will Be in 'Terminator Salvation'

There have been better kept secrets over the past few months, that's for sure. So it's finally confirmed that Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger will be in Terminator Salvation. Sort of.

IESB says "a CGI version of his original bodycast" from the first Terminator will appear in the new film, which is quite a bit different from the story that had been floating around for a few months that Schwarzenegger's face (either new or retro) would be digitized over that of Roland Kickinger, who plays a T-600 version of the terminator.

James Cameron had Schwarzenegger fitted for a body cast mold back in the early 80s, and McG and the Terminator Salvation effects team used that mold to create a digital Schwarzenegger, a Digigovernator, if you will.

Schwarzenegger apparently never worked a day on filming the project. There was also some belief that he would record voice tracks, but that wasn't mentioned in the latest report. He joins Linda Hamilton from the cast of the original film making a leap into the new trilogy, and McG has stated he wants to bring Robert Patrick back for the fifth film.

I think that he's recorded some voiceovers though because according to Thearnoldfans.com director MCG revealed that Arnold had recorded Voiceovers and that he possibly would do more, at that time. This was all a couple of months back at the Comic Con.

Well there ya go, it was fully digital, and very well done too! exactly the same hair as the T1 film. Which made it look amazing. Shite film though, they shouldnt of used the terminator name with this and just called it sumthing else. and changed the machnes.

I think it all fits perfectly, the t-800 was made in different faces because it had to fit the time period. The t-800 had to blend in with the 70's and 80's... REALLY nice job on the digital work though...
