Friday, April 24, 2009 at 7:22AM Joseph Gordon-Levitt Joins Nolan's 'Inception'
Are you surprised that Joseph Gordon-Levitt escaped Third Rock from the
Sun with his subtlety in tact? I mean between French Stewart and John Lithgow, that's a
whole lotta queso. I think Lithgow even won the Emmy for Most Acting in a Comedy Series in
2000.

But Gordon-Levitt has become a great young character actor, and if he was a bigger guy, he'd be
in the talks for all these superhero movies launching right about now. Watch Brick and The Lookout, skip (as nearly everyone did) Killshot, and wait with bated breath
for 500 Days of Summer, in which he's terrific.
Christopher Nolan likes what he's seen out of Gordon-Levitt, adding him to join the growing
cast of his Batman spacer, Inception, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Leonardo DiCaprio was the first name attached to
the film, and in the weeks since, Marion Cotillard, Cillian Murphy, and Ellen Page have been
signed. The sci-fi flick, due in theaters next summer, takes place in "the architecture of the
mind," which makes it patently impossible to center around Chris Klein.
That's a hell of a cast, and with a billion dollar movie last summer giving Nolan the
flexibility to do anything he wants, he's getting exactly who he wants for every character;
nobody would turn this movie down.
Interesting side note, and I really don't want to be a rumor monger, but with the exception of
DiCaprio, the cast members are subject of a few hypotheticals for the next Batman movie. Murphy
is already in the Nolanverse as Scarecrow, but I had heard Cotillard mentioned for Catwoman and
Ellen Page for Harley Quinn in 2008. Joseph Gordon-Levitt The Riddler, anyone? Just a
thought...

oooooooooohhhhhhh that is a good thought.
He would probably be really good as The Riddler too.
But why can't Gordon-Levitt be in a superhero movie? If Tobey Maguire could bulk up for Spider-Man, Levitt should be able to do if for something like The Green Lantern maybe...
Frankly, I've noticed an uncanny similarity between Heath Ledger and J G-Levitt of face and expression...even see the pic on this page! Could he be taking over as The Joker?!!!
