'Wolverine' Will Be Released With Multiple Endings
Saturday, April 25, 2009 at 2:57AM
Wolverine director Gavin Hood announced at an industry screening of his film on Friday
that audiences can expect loads of Easter eggs. That's not a break from Marvel's tradition of planting clues
through the narrative of a film (Captain America's shield in Iron Man) or during the closing credits, but
according to First Showing, this is going to be radically different.

Hood apparently shot multiple endings to Wolverine, which will be scattered throughout the world when the
movie is released next Friday. Suck on that, pirates!
The multiple endings mean that if you watch the film in Hoboken, it might have an alternate conclusion than if you
saw the film in Newark. Why is Fox doing that? I guess to force more than one viewing. This concept didn't make
Clue a bigger hit back in the 1980s, and it seems like it might be a reaction to the online piracy involved.
It wouldn't be outside the realm of possibility that a few endings were shot - lots of movies do that - and Fox was
keen to stick them on the DVD, but when it came to reclaiming the audience lost by the early leak of the film, the
decision was made to make the endings available in theaters, meaning even if you'd seen a pirated version, there's
still new stuff you need to check out.
Of course, from what I've read, there are so many unfinished effects shots in the leaked version that you'd pretty
much have to watch the completed film as it is, but this is a little more incentive. Again, I'm just
speculating about the reasons why Fox did it, but if it had been a plan for a while, you'd think it would've been
announced earlier than a week before opening day.
First Showing says that Hood didn't elaborate on how many endings there are, but I'm sure somebody will pin down
that number within a week of the film's release.

Thats the worst thing I've ever heard... I hate multiple endings (Clue and Wayne's World aside because they are all contained within one film) make a decision and pick one film, don't cop out with this different ending garbage. The pre-sales were good enough they don't need this stupid gimmick to combat pirating.
