Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at 11:22AM Fox Wants Ridley Scott for Another 'Aliens' Movie
Last week, Robert Rodriguez announced he's tackling a reboot of Predator. In case you
missed it, it's going to be called Predators and Rodriguez will be working from a script he wrote years ago,
probably re-writing a lot of it, and he's producing and possibly directed. IESB caught up with Fox chairman Tom
Rothman and asked him about a closely related franchise to Predator.

"There's been some talk," Rothman admitted about taking another look at Aliens. "Ridley Scott, Ridley is
right now working on Robin Hood, but I think he's toying with the idea and that would be great for us."
"I mean, it's always been a matter of, really, if you can get the originator to do it that would be the greatest
thing, so I've got my fingers crossed, all of them," Rothman said.He was asked about an Aliens prequel, but
Rothman didn't confirm anything other than the studio's hopeful for another movie in the series and that Ridley
Scott would be involved.
The only way this works: Go extremely lo-fi and claustrophobic. I'm not that high on the concept in general,
because as a property, Aliens is 2-4, with four straight losses over the past 20-something years. So this
can't exist just because there's money to be made, because the audience has already seen enough of those.

Yep, this has to be Rocky Balboa for our dear Alien friends.
But but we deserve a proper sequel to Aliens. Colonial Marines and Alien, it's not hard to give us a popcorn muncher based on that is it?
How come Hollywood doesn’t get it? All you have to do is make another war movie to revitalize the Alien franchise. Put a Colonial Marine special forces team on a planet with aliens, throw in some nukes from space and you have a great movie. Oh and no more Ripley!!!!!!!! No Clones!!!! However since Hollywood always wants to try and be fancy with the Alien movies we will get anther crappy stupid artsy movie!!! WAKE UP HOLLYWOOD!!!
