Thursday, April 2, 2009 at 10:42PM Director Paul Weitz Meeting the 'Fockers'
For those of you scoring at home - or even if you're alone - Chris Weitz is the brother
directing New Moon, and Paul Weitz, apparently, is the brother directing
Little Fockers.

Variety has the update on the Fockers threequel, and it's a reversal from reports a couple of weeks
ago that Peter Segal (Get Smart) was the director on Universal's radar. We don't know why the change has
been made or why the other Weitz brother has moved to the front of a very busy line, but it is believed that Weitz
is going to begin his negotiations soon.
The film has been rumored for a couple of years, and when John Hamburg signed on to write the third film (he wrote
the previous two and wrote and directed I Love You, Man), the rest of the pieces started falling into place.
Ben Stiller, Robert De Niro, Owen Wilson, and Teri Polo are confirmed, and it's extremely likely every other major
player from the second movie will return, too.
It will be a nice practice session for Weitz' pet project, Another Bullshit Night in Suck City, which will
also star De Niro (along with Casey Affleck). One thing that could have helped Weitz in the eyes of Universal is
his recent work on the adaptation of Cirque du Freak, which the studio will unveil in 2010.
Fockers is currently on the radar for 2011.
