Keira Knightley in Domestic Violence PSA
Thursday, April 2, 2009 at 8:22PM
A lot of people hate when celebrities use their popularity to promote an agenda. Bill O'Reilly
refuses to watch Sean Penn movies because of his public politics. But very often, and I'm sure in Penn's mind, too,
celebrities feel the pull to contribute to society in a more tangible way.
And here's one you simply can't have any trouble with...unless you're Chris Brown. Keira
Knightley stars in a new public service announcement about domestic violence. Takes
a while for it to gain steam but when it does, it's incredibly effective.
And how about a round of applause for Knightley, who takes a common sense stand but does so in a jarring way and
puts herself in the middle of a very important issue.

Absolutely, a standing ovation in fact for Knightley for filming such a grueling video. I can't have been easy to play an abused women who is beaten up this badly, but she handles it with class and grace.
I wish more celebrities would take the time out of their 'busy' schedule and really do something to improve the world. This ad is incredibly effective in the message it sends that in when women are abused, often nobody bothers to stop the abuse or help. It's really tragic!
Great video on this most important issue and again applause to Knightley!
