Sunday, April 5, 2009 at 10:19PM No 'Hangover' Hangover: Warners Orders a Sequel
When Paramount announced the sequel for Star Trek over a month before the prequel was
released, it was more an inevitability than anything else. But when Warner Bros. revealed it's calling back the
troops for a sequel to The Hangover, it was significantly more unexpected.

The comedy isn't due out until June 5th, and it is hardly the biggest ticket item of the year, but Variety reports that the response from test screenings and
the reaction to the trailer at ShoWest was enough for the studio to believe it has a genuine franchise on its
hands. The Hangover is directed by Todd Phillips of Old School fame and stars Bradley
Cooper, Zach Galifianakis, and Ed
Helms, all of whom are inked for the sequel.
The first film deals with the day after a Vegas bachelor party finds the bachelor in question (Justin
Bartha) missing, and his trio of friends up to their necks in trouble. Phillips
will write the sequel with Scot Armstrong, with whom he worked on the Old School
script, and Warner Bros. hopes to crank up production on the film later this year.
