Monday, April 6, 2009 at 3:22PM Trailer - Rupert Grint Grows Up in 'Cherrybomb'
Expecto patronum! Is that a bloodied Ron Weasley? And is that Ron snorting coke? Uh-huh.

In the new trailer for Cherrybomb, we see a whole new side of Rupert Grint. The gritty English drama has hit a few film festivals in Europe, but we don't have a release date yet. Grint plays Malachy, one of three teens who spend a weekend jacking some cars, shoplift, and party too hard. The non-Potter movies haven't done well for its young stars, although this looks much more promising than Daniel Radcliffe's December Boys. And it's certainly a lot different from another year at Hogwarts.
Take a look at the trailer. Also, if somebody could lead me to who the artist is performing the song, I'd be grateful.

The song is No Girl in My Plan by Two Lone Swordsmen.
Here's their Last.Fm page: http://www.last.fm/music/Two+Lone+Swordsmen
The trailer is a bit too reminiscent of Skins for my taste, although considering how freaking attractive I'm suddenly finding Rupert Grint, I'd be totally up for seeing this. I remember when he was just a boy. Sigh...I feel old and slightly creepy now.
Thanks for the link. I can't help you with your Grint attraction.
Rupert Grint's "Driving Lessons" actually did fairly well. It wasn't one of those indies that ends up huge, but it was a decent outing. And of course, I think this will do even better if they don't try to get anything lower than an R rating. (Honestly, when will people realize the trio have grown?) The film is fantastic (I saw at the Belfast Film Festival!) and I think it has a real chance of going places.
Oh, and by the way, this isn't the official trailer. This was a promo used by a company that has cameras the film used. The people in charge have told us that a trailer is being put together and will becoming available soon!
Rupert Grint was always the better actor among the three leads in Harry Potter. Look it him going for it with this new movie. Cherrybomb looks very very promising and I personally cannot wait to go see it. I also love the song they used in the trailer.
