Monday, May 11, 2009 at 12:39PM First Look at Sci-Fi 'Surrogates' with Bruce Willis
In the future, we'll all have machines doing the work for us. That's not a bold prediction, and indeed, it's almost an essential tenet of science fiction, a presumption that our technological advancements in the real world have done little to counteract. The upcoming Surrogates takes it one step further, with humans interacting with each other through their robots, never leaving the house.

A cop (Bruce Willis) is drawn out of isolation to investigate a string of unusual murders. How can there even be murders if nobody leaves the comfort of their own homes? Well, someone is killing off surrogates. Who would do that and why? You'll find out in the last ten minutes of the movie, I guess.
Surrogates is directed by Jonathan Mostow (Terminator 3), and I guess the ceiling for this is probably a comparison to Minority Report. If it reaches that summit, congratulations. Here's the kicker to all this: Surrogates is a Disney movie, which is a bit surprising to me.
Take a look at the first behind-the-scenes featurette of Surrogates:

This one's currently on the books for a September 25th release, and I would expect a new trailer for this within a couple of weeks.
