Megan Fox Tired of Proving "I'm Not a Retard"

Transformers sexpot Megan Fox is quotable even when I believe she's not trying to be. This all started about a year ago, when Fox famously said of a fellow screen vixen, "Olivia Wilde is so sexy she makes me want to strangle a mountain ox with my bare hands. She’s mesmerizing.” Now Fox is invoking another young actress with tremendous sex appeal, although I'm not sure it's a dig. Acknowledging that some people don't take her very seriously because she is to celebrity photoshoots what extra cheese is to a pizza, Fox told Esquire that having to make people believe she's not a bimbo is a bigger part of her life than she'd like. That's not the way she put it, saying instead, "I resent having to prove that I'm not a retard - but I do."

"I don't want to have to be like a Scarlett Johansson — who I have nothing against - but I don't want to have to go on talk shows and pull out every single SAT word I've every learned to prove, like, 'Take me seriously, I am intelligent, I can speak.'"

Here's the only problem with that, as far as I can see: Though Johansson's performances have plummeted in the past five years, which I pin primarily on her adopting the Sam Jackson principle of doing any movie they ask her to, she does have good work on her résumé. Quite a bit for a woman of 24, actually. Megan Fox...not so much. So Scarlett no longer has to prove herself; her foot's in the door in that regard. Plus, despite her terrible acting in The Spirit and The Nanny Diaries, I can buy Scarlett using SAT words. The funny thing is Megan used a poor example, because I don't find Scarlett to be that loquacious in her interviews. I have interviewed her, and bookish wouldn't be the adjective I'd use. Ashley Judd, sure. Natalie Portman, sometimes.So if Megan thinks Johansson goes all Scrabble during interviews when she really just uses common words and phrases, that kind of underscores why people might believe Ms. Fox is a dingbat. Poor girl, I'm waiting for that chance to take her seriously, because if she really can act, then just call off the fight right now. She wins. But when you give people low expectations by plying your craft in Michael Bay movies and posing in your underwear all the time, they're going to think you're getting hired for your looks. That's in the math portion of the SAT, where you put two and two together.

Colin you have a very good point. Scarlett has proved herself and is a very good top notch actress in my opinion because I have seen her work at its best. Even though she has taken some shit roles for no reason in my opinion.

Megan on the other hand will be in something called Jennifer Body.... which from what I have heard and seen will be fucken disastrous
