Depp, Bale, Cotillard in New 'Public Enemies' Posters

I've still got a feeling that Public Enemies is better suited for an early fall release, late September or early October. There's less high-profile competition then and summer movie audiences generally don't respond as well to period pieces as they do blow 'em ups. That's not to say it's a bad movie - I feel it could be the best potential blockbuster of the next few months - just that I think it's better served sometime other than sandwiched between Transformers and Harry Potter. But I can't wait to see it, and director Michael Mann has once again put together a terrific cast, including Johnny Depp, Christian Bale, Oscar winner Marion Cotillard, and Billy Crudup. It's the story of John Dillinger, the nefarious gangster of the 1930s who legend continues to purport may not have been gunned down in a Chicago movie theater. Now there are three character posters for Public Enemies, courtesy of IMP Awards: Public Enemies will be released on July 1st, whether I like it or not.
