Saturday, May 16, 2009 at 1:05AM Nickelodeon to Produce 'Kung Fu Panda' TV Series
Kung Fu Panda was a great big hit last summer, and I have no doubt that the 2011 sequel will also roll in the dough, but DreamWorks and Nickelodeon have agreed bridge the gap between the two films with a new Panda TV series along the lines of the Penguins of Madagascar series.

Said DreamWorks animation's Ann Daly, "The characters we created for Kung Fu Panda are well suited to be further developed in new and exciting ways." While a lot of people might be down on the idea, I actually think an animated show is a better idea than a pile of movie sequels.
It should be big business for Nickelodeon, and unlike a movie - which only has one shot to get it right - a series can develop ideas that may not work as well initially but could lead to bigger and better things down the road.
The series is expected to begin in 2010, although it's not yet known if the show would continue after the movie sequel or if it will even have anything in common with the storyline used in the next film.
