Yeah, you know what? I think I would like a fourth Mad Max movie. I was summarily disappointed by Thunderdome, even at 14 or however old I was then, but it wasn't Matrix Revolutions bad where you're dejected because now the series is ruined. It just wasn't a great part three, and those are exceedingly rare, anyway.

But a fourth one, some 30 years after the dawn of the series? I can live with that. So, too, can director George Miller, who is reporterdly scouting locations in Australia to approximate the post-apocalypse.
Miller may shoot by the end of the year, but don't bet on Mel Gibson returning. Miller said a couple of years ago, "I don't think he is into acting and I don't think he would be interested in being involved at all."
If we're going with young Australian actors - which appears to be where Miller is headed - then isn't Sam Worthington the logical choice? The Terminator Salvation co-star is already above the title, and he's still got Avatar and Clash of the Titans to go. He's also the best thing about Terminator, so his star will continue to rise.
Eric Bana would also be a good choice, depending on the age of the character. Damn, he was good in Star Trek.

Sam Worthington would definitely be the best choice to take Mel Gibson's shoes in the Mad Max series. Speaking of which, I am watching Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome as I type this.
