Friday, May 1, 2009 at 6:05PM Depp, Bale, International 'Public Enemies' Trailer
Here's a new trailer for Public Enemies with Christian Bale and Johnny Depp or Johnny Depp and Christian Bale. We ranked this as our pre-season number two film of the summer, not too far behind Terminator Salvation. Though not really typical summer fare, it could be the best movie we see in the next few months.

This is the international trailer, and I'm really only showing it for one reason: Check out the music. I don't know if director Michael Mann will use anachronistic tunes in the film as opposed to period music from the 1930s, but his films, like those of Martin Scorsese, are usually expertly soundtracked. That's not a word. But he always finds a way to match the mood with music, like the integration of Groove Armada's "Hands of Time" and Audioslave's "Shadow on the Sun" in Collateral.
So I'll be curious to see what Mann and his music supervisor Bob Badami do to liven up Public Enemies. The tunes sure make the trailer stand out a little more, though.
Public Enemies comes our way on July 1st.

The music in that one sounds familiar to me. Sure it's not used domestic too?
I think it's in both trailers, yeah, but I just paid attention to it more because I'd seen almost everything in the trailer before.
